#GenerationRestoration

Land Life becomes partner of the UN Decade for Ecosystem Restoration

A shared challenge asks for a shared solution, which is why we are very excited and proud to have been selected as partner of the UN decade for ecosystem restoration. We are joining the movement, initiated by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), with the aim to ramp up restoration efforts where nature needs it most. With our aim to leverage pioneering technology for large scale nature restoration we are now officially part of #GenerationRestoration

The time to act is now

The regeneration of ecosystems is a challenge. It requires time, resources and a diverse mix of parties and expertise all collectively focusing on not only reintroducing species composition but also to including agendas linked to virtually all SDGs.

This multidisciplinary character offers unique opportunities for multiple impacts but also poses challenges. How to secure the survival of a fragile renewed (forest) ecosystem, how to provide local stakeholders with means to build up their livelihoods, how to legally – but also culturally – create assurance that this nascent ecosystem stands a chance are only few of the challenges.

To face these challenges UNEP and FAO decided to join forces in 2020 and put a special entity in place for ten years to specifically support problem solving around those pressing challenges.

At Land Life, we are eager to share our innovative approach, our learnings and our contacts and at the same time we are looking forward to learning from others and to fostering new partnerships.
